  • Can I install a Level 2 charger on a 100-amp panel?

    Often, yes, at a lower charging amperage or with a load-management device that limits what the charger draws when the house is busy. The 2023 code counts a charger at 7,200 volt-amperes or its nameplate rating unless a management system caps it.

  • Which level of at-home charging is right for my driving?

    Level 1 on a standard outlet covers up to about 45 miles of driving a day, which suits short commutes. A 7 kW Level 2 charger refills 140 to 250 miles in 8 overnight hours, so longer commutes call for Level 2.

  • I have a plug-in hybrid, do I need a Level 2 charger?

    Not always. A plug-in hybrid's battery refills on Level 1 in about 5 to 6 hours, fine for overnight. Level 2 does it in 1 to 2 hours, useful if you charge twice a day or plan to buy a full EV.

  • How can I charge two cars at the same time?

    Two chargers on two dedicated circuits is the simplest route when the panel has the capacity. When it does not, two units can share one circuit through a listed power-sharing setup, and MaxCharged configures that arrangement for Maricopa County households regularly.

The permit application is in your city's queue by the next business day after approval. Municipal review runs from a few days to a few weeks, and installation is scheduled within 2 days of the permit coming back approved.

STEP 04

Install In A Single Visit

We mark off the work area, run the circuit, set the breaker, mount and wire the charger, and paint any exposed conduit to match when we can. Most garages are finished in 4 to 6 hours.

STEP 05

The Owner Checks The Work

Before anyone leaves, the owner inspects the terminations, the breaker label, the mounting, and the cleanup, then plugs in your car and watches it pull a full-rate charge. Anything short of right gets fixed while we are still standing there.
